About Jim Maas
…...Our founder Jim Maas originally from Columbus Ohio moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1995. Jim arrived as a faux painter making a living painting the interior homes and businesses. Before moving to the Emerald Coast, Jim had a passion for coffee and learned the art of coffee roasting from a friend who was an accomplished roaster at the fabled Pete’s Coffee in San Francisco.
An avid motorcycle rider, Jim rode around the Emerald Coast, searching for the perfect location to launch his new endeavor, Jim settled on a charming storefront located in the Historic District of Fort Walton Beach on the Miracle Strip Parkway. From the very beginning true to his artistic roots he built his shop as an art project more than a business plan.
